Description:

Individual will be responsible for oversight and direction of in vivo pharmacology efforts within our oncology program. Duties will include selection and optimization of animal models (pharmacodynamic and efficacy) individualized to the pathways being targeted. The successful candidate will work with multi-disciplinary groups including medicinal chemistry, in vitro biology (cell and molecular biology, biochemistry), in vitro ADME and pharmacokinetics. Projects will encompass both low molecular weight and biotherapeutic (antibodies and proteins) efforts.  This position will have supervisory responsibility for a team of Ph.D. scientists and scientific associates working on in vivo drug optimization, target validation and the development and optimization of various cancer-relevant animal models. 

Required qualifications and experience

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field with 10+ years of biotechnology or pharmaceutical drug discovery experience 
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of oncology-related animal models and a detailed understanding of pathways relevant to oncology
  • Strong project leadership experience on projects that have produced clinical candidates
  • Demonstrated record of scientific achievement
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience working as part of multi-site collaborative projects
  • Experience supervising research associates and Ph.D. scientists
  • High level of self-motivation and ability to thrive in a goal- and team-oriented setting
