Performs experiments and procedures requiring specific scientific and technical knowledge and laboratory techniques according to input from supervisor.  Provides basic data analysis and may provide assistance in design of next experiment.  Documents own experiments in lab notebook.  Presents results to supervisor and may present to lab or at project meetings.  Works collaboratively with team.  Requirements:  B.S. degree or equivalent in Microbiology or related.  6 months of experience in the occupation.  (Experience must be in a related full time research position.)  Academic background or work experience to include:   molecular biology tools; cloning; RNA/DNA preparation and gene expression; animal model studies; cell culture work.
