Functions as part of a dynamic team responsible for the design, configuration, installation, and management of GNF computer networks and servers in all aspects of network security, including: analysis, monitoring, configuration, engineering, incident response, and complete network and host documentation.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Designs, implements, and develops server configuration, firewalls, DMZs, network compartmentalization or security zones, network isolation, virus and worm defenses, security monitoring, intrusion detections, reaction plans, and Internet security.
2. In the absence of Network Engineer, performs configuration changes and diagnoses failures in local area network.
3. Interfaces with Novartis ISEC organization. Performs ISEC risk assessments.
Minimum Requirements:
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years recent experience with Information Technology Security systems.
• Willingness to provide on-call support, including willingness to work overtime and weekends as required
• Strong technical foundation and possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to complete objectives.
• Working knowledge of Enterprise LANs, WANs, Routers, switches, and related networking hardware.
• Working knowledge of network security firewalls, intrusion detection and content scanning.
• Familiarity of Unix, Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X operating system architecture.
• Experience analyzing logs for possible intrusion.
