We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a B.S. or M.S. to join our Chagas’ disease drug discovery team. Project will encompass identification of low molecular weight inhibitors of Trypanosoma cruzi proliferation, and in vitro/in vivo optimization of discovered inhibitors into pre-clinical candidates. Successful applicant will be responsible for development and validation of mouse models of Chagas’ disease, as well as for routine use of these models during pre-clinical drug discovery. An extensive hands-on laboratory experience with mouse handling techniques (intraperitoneal and subcutaneous injections, tail vein blood collection, etc.), and culturing and assaying mammalian cell lines to support drug discovery projects are required. Excellent communication, organization, and data analysis skills are a must, as well as a positive outlook and a team-oriented attitude.
