Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented in vivo scientific associate with a B.S. and 3+ years experience to pursue novel drug discovery in the field of type 1 diabetes. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with mouse modeling of diabetes, autoimmunity, immune diseases, or related fields. The candidate will conduct experiments using mouse models of diabetes such as the NOD, as well as transplant and adoptive cell transfer approaches. The successful candidate will run detailed analyses of the function and phenotype of T cells and islet ß-cells, using in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro approaches such as flow cytometry, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and tissue culture. Knowledge of immunology and/or ß-cell biology is highly desirable. Independence, excellent communication, organization, and data analysis skills are a must, as well as a positive outlook and a team-oriented attitude.
