In August 2009, JDRF and GNF entered into a novel collaborative agreement to create a drug discovery and development program for T1D. This program, now in its fifth year, is one of the largest and most comprehensive collaborations in the history of JDRF, a leader in setting the agenda for type 1 diabetes research worldwide and the largest charitable funder and advocate of T1D research. For more information on JDRF’s research plan for creating a world without T1D, please visit jdrf.org.
The partnership between JDRF and GNF aims to develop a series of clinical candidates. Efforts are focused on developing therapies that promote functional pancreatic beta cell regeneration and survival. GNF and JDRF seeded the pipeline with several existing programs at GNF. GNF and JDRF are also building upon this pipeline through collaborations with leading diabetes investigators.
