The Assay Development/HTS group at GNF is seeking a talented, highly motivated, creative and collaborative Ph.D. level scientist to support the small-molecule drug discovery.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead the in vitro pharmacology efforts to support various small molecule drug discovery projects
• Design and execute relevant biochemical assays to understand inhibitor potency and mechanism of action. Provide data interpretation, insights and recommendations to the team
• Characterize the protein targets and determine the kinetic parameters
• Optimize/miniaturize the assays to enable HTS (high-throughput screening)
• Execute HTS, provide data analysis and interpretation
• Keep up with literature, bring in and evaluate new technologies
• Minimal 50% bench time

What you will bring to the role:

• PhD degree in enzymology, biochemistry, or related discipline with 2+ years of post-doctoral experience. Prior industrial experience is preferred.
• A strong background in mechanistic enzymology, enzyme kinetics, biochemistry and biochemical assay development
• Good understanding of various assay methods and principles
• Ability to independently design and conduct experiments, and to analyze, interpret and communicate data in project team meetings
• Excellent technical ability at the bench
• Strong leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Highly desirable:

• Experience in cellular assay development and knowledge of signaling pathways.
• Prior experience in small-molecule screening including familiarity with automation.
