Executive Director of General Medical Biology
Chantale Guy, Ph.D.
Dr. Guy currently serves as the Executive Director of General Medical Biology at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF). She is responsible for the scientific strategies and drug discovery activities pertaining to GNF’s programs across disease areas outside of oncology, with special emphasis on regenerative medicine and tissue repair. Prior to joining GNF in 2020, Dr. Guy held various positions at NIBR, including Executive Director of Early Translational Biology within NIBR Chemical Biology and Therapeutics (CBT), Director and Executive Director in the Chemical Proteomic Center (CPC), and Senior Research Investigator within Developmental and Molecular Pathways (DMP). She is the recipient of both the Innovation Award and Catalyst Award. Prior to Novartis, Dr. Guy held positions at Merck Research in Rahway, NJ, Ardais Corp. in Lexington, MA, and Sequana Therapeutics in San Diego. Dr. Guy obtained her PhD in Medical Sciences from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, and carried out postdoctoral studies with Wen-Hwa Lee at UT San Antonio, followed by a second postdoc at Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA. In those formative years, she focused on identifying the molecular mechanisms involved in the development and progression of human cancers, and rapidly translating her research into strategies that improve patient outcomes.
